Mrs. Cowan Greetings one an all to my page about me. I guess I should tell you a bit about myself. I was born on December 24 in Jacksonville, Florida. I have lived here my entire life. I have 2 younger sisters, Michelle and Debbie. Michelle works at a butterfly nursery and Debbie teaches high school. My father is a retired police officer and my mother is a homemaker. I attended Resurrection Catholic School and then moved on to Stanton College Preparatory School in 7th grade. I graduated in 1990 and went on to the University of North Florida. I graduated in 1994 with a BAE in Specific Learning Disabilities. I then went on to teach at Pine Estates Elementary for 8 years. I taught everything from Self-Contained Learning Disabled to V.E. Resource in grades K thru 5. I then moved on to Pre-K Handicapped and 1st Grade over at Merrill Road Elementary. I spent a year at Yulee Elementary School where I taught 4th grade. I have since returned to Duval County. I will be teaching 2nd Grade at Louise Sheffield Elementary School. I earned my National Board Certification in the area of Special Education as well and am currently pursuing my masters in Educational Leadership (although at this time I have no desire to become a principal at this time). I am married to a wonderful man named Robert. I have seven, yes seven, wonderful pets. I have a beautiful German Shepard mix dog named Trixie. She has epilepsy and requires lots of special care. Then there are my cats. First there is Anna. She is my orange and white little stinker. Then there is Justice, my 28 pound black male cat. Next is Liberty, who is my shy and quiet one. Then there is Ebony, my little ball of energy who is black as well. Next is Midnight who should have been called Trouble! Last, we were adopted by an adorable black male cat named Boo. He showed up the day after Halloween! I love them all just the same. Here is a link to some cute family photos. What we are most excited about is our bundle of joy that joined us November 5th, 2004. We are blessed to have a beautiful little girl named Abigail Rebecca. She has added so much joy to our life. Here is the link to her very own page.
