-
Find a quiet spot to
complete your homework. Avoid doing homework near a
television, radio, or other distractions. If you need
music, listen to soft and soothing music that will not
prevent you from being able to think.
-
Take a short break
after school and then complete your homework. Take half an
hour to an hour to unwind before trying to tackle your
homework.
-
Don't try to do your
homework late at night. If you wait until bed time, you
will be too tired to concentrate. Try doing your homework
before supper.
-
Ask an adult for help
if you need it.
-
Don't let others
complete your homework for you. Ask for help is you need it
but don't expect the answers to be handed to you.
-
If you have a test,
take time to study each night rather than waiting until the
last minute. This will allow you to get all of the sleep
you need.
-
Go over your homework
with an adult once you have finished to make sure you
understood all assignments.
-
Note to adult
helpers: Praise your child for a job well done!
