The slideshow below is a display of The Cat in the Hat main idea and supporting details.  The students read the story and then determined the main idea and the details from the story that supported that.

The slideshow below is a display of some of the functional pieces written by the students.  These are their initial pieces that they were required to write in order to make an ice cream sundae.  It was a blast!
